Description

Let's start our visit at the Accademia Gallery, where we'll discover why the David is Florence's best-known symbol and what he represented in his time. How did Michelangelo's genius face the challenge of capturing the pathos of a being and immortalizing it in the Pietà, or in the famous Prisoners who still seem to struggle to free themselves from their marble blocks? You will have answers to all your questions. Get the opportunity to have an up-close encounter with timeless masterpieces and gain insight into the life and times of this accomplished artist. After the guided tour, you will have approximately 1 hour of free time to explore on your own and have lunch (lunch not included).

The second part of the tour begins in the early afternoon with a walking tour, in which you will enjoy an excellent and complete introduction for those who want to know all the facts and secrets of the two thousand years of Florentine history. From the city's Roman origins to a 15th-century palace, from the Ponte Vecchio, past the famous Uffizi courtyard, to the architectural wonders of Brunelleschi's Dome, which towers over the Baptistery's golden 'Gates of Paradise'. After the walking tour, you will visit one of the most famous museums in the world: the Uffizi Gallery. Our guide will explain the works of the greatest artists of the Middle Ages. You'll recognize original world-famous paintings that you've seen in books, magazines, and in close-ups on TV. You will learn about the secrets of the artist's technique and tools. By looking at the most famous works of art from the era, you can understand why Florence was the birthplace of the Renaissance. This tour offers the most complete introduction to the great Renaissance city of Florence. The tour ends at the Uffizi Gallery, where you will have the opportunity to stay longer in the gallery and explore on your own.
