Full-Day Óbidos, Nazaré and Fátima - leaving from Lisbon

We will leave Lisbon towards Fátima.

In Fátima, experience a pilgrim's experience as you visit the Sanctuary, one of the most important Christian pilgrimage sites in the world, with approximately 5 million visitors per year.

Visit the Chapel of Apparitions. This is the true heart of the Sanctuary: the exact place where the Virgin Mary appeared to the 3 little shepherds is marked by a marble column and the image of Our Lady of Fátima. Visit the Basilica of Nossa Senhora do Rosário, where you can find the tombs of the 3 little shepherds: Francisco, Jacinta and Lúcia.

Explore the impressive Batalha Monastery, built in the 14th century and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since the 1980s. It was built on the initiative of D. João I of Portugal, in fulfillment of a promise made to Our Lady of Vitória, if she favored the Portuguese in the battle of Aljubarrota (1385) against the army of Castile.

Take a photo at the top of the cliffs of Nazaré, with stunning views over the Atlantic Ocean, and learn about the famous legend of D. Fuas Roupinho. This village has maintained a strong and long tradition of fishing since its origins. Here, there is a wide variety of restaurants serving fish and seafood. You will have free time to have lunch at one of these regional restaurants.

Enjoy the sea breeze along the Atlantic coast on your way to the next stop, the town of Óbidos. Fall in love with this romantic medieval village founded over 2000 years ago. Winding streets, medieval structures, castle walls, craft shops and some curious bookstores make this stop the highlight of the trip for many people. End the visit by tasting the traditional Ginja liqueur (made from cherries) served in a chocolate cup before returning to Lisbon.
